WE DREAM TODAY OF THE FABRIC
INNOVATIONS OF TOMORROW

We don’t believe that innovation is a part of our work. We believe that it is the focal point in the centre of all that we do.

For us, innovating means being able to be one step ahead of our customer’s challenges, to be able to create solutions for problems that today seem insurmountable.

WE ARE WHAT WE DO

We have an internal Interdisciplinary Research Department that works hand in hand with our fibre suppliers to achieve extraordinary results. We innovate in our processes, in our fabrics, but most of all, we innovate in our thought processes. This is our quest and we take steps to achieve this each and every day.

What is Dyneema®?

Dyneema® is the trade name given to fibers made with high molecular weight polyethylene. Its properties, such as its strength, lightness, versatility and resistance to chemical and abrasive, agents, make it an ideal yarn for high performance technical fabrics.

Dyneema® brand has become a benchmark yarn for this type of fibers, lighter than any other similar yarn on the market and being constantly improved through R&D.

The fabrics we manufacture with Dyneema® can be used in many different fields. At IBQ we mainly use this yarn in the manufacture of fabrics for reinforcemets.

STRONG

Dyneema® is a fibre 15 times stronger than steel, making it ideal for fabrics with high impact and cut resistance. The criss-cross orientation of its fibres provides a very resistant light material.

CHEMICAL AND ABRASION RESISTANCE

Dyneema® is very resistant to corrosive chemical agents, such as acids. It is also very abrasion resistant, making this fabric perfect for personal protection equipment.

VERSATILITY

Dyneema® is a thread that creates fabrics with a resistance that makes them ideal for use in different work and leisure garments Such versatility means Dyneema ® yarn is becoming more and more popular in many industrial sectors.

What is Cordura®?

Cordura® is the trade name of a polyamide fabric, more specifically an adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine polymer. Cordura® fabrics are as versatile as Nylon, but are more scratch and scuff resistant, and are also dyeable.

This means it can be used in many items in the textile industry, such as in motorcycle jackets, boots, backpacks or gloves, among others.

Because of the characteristics of Cordura® fabrics, they have many uses in the textile industry. At IBQ we mainly use this yarn to manufacture fabrics for protections, elastics and reinforcements.

ABRASION RESISTANCE

Fabrics made with Cordura® are very resistant to scrapes and abrasions. For example, it is 10 times more abrasion-resistant than cotton.

SCRATCH-RESISTANT

Cordura® fabrics are more scratch-resistant than nylon ones. This property makes it popular in both civil and military garment manufacturing.

What is Kevlar®?

Kevlar® is a polymer of polyamide class. Thanks to this material’s excellent properties, it can be used in manufacturing yarns with extraordinary resistance As such, garments made with Kevlar® yarn have high impact resistance, optimally absorbing the energy of impacts. They are also ideal for withstanding high temperatures (above 400 ºC).

These properties make Kevlar® sfabrics perfect for manufacturing protective garments, reinforcements and fireproof suits, to name just a few examples.

Thanks to its properties, Kevlar® has many different uses. At IBQ we mainly use this yarn in the manufacture of fabrics for reinforcements and protections.

STRONG

Fabrics made from material have a high tensile strength (8 times more than steel) and stiffness. Kevlar®, however, is light, making it perfect for use in textiles.

RESISTANCE TO HIGH AND LOW TEMPERATURES

Fabrics manufactured using Kevlar® withstand very high temperatures. They decompose between 420 and 480 ºC, maintaining all their mechanical properties until approaching those temperatures. This This property makes this the perfect yarn for fabrics designed to withstand high temperatures.

It behaves equally well at very low temperatures, with degradation effects hardly notable until -195 ºC.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

Kevlar® can easily withstand attacks from a wide range of chemicals, such as solvents and oils, for example. However, if these agents are strong acids or bases, and exposure is prolonged, the resistance is noticeably lower.

DIFFICULT SEPARATION

The molecules of this polymer are extremely difficult to separate. A lot of energy is required to break them up, making Kevlar®fabrics perfect for creating penetration-resistant garments, greatly reducing potential damage. One of the most common uses for these fabrics is for making bulletproof vests.

What is Coolmax®?

Coolmax® is the trade name for a range of different polyesters with the main feature being its breathability in comparison to other less breathable fibers.

This makes Coolmax® and ideal material to make sportswear of all kinds and for specialist workwear.

Coolmax® is a technology that, at IBQ, we use in a variety of textiles. Because of its special characteristics, it is used, in particular, in reinforcements, elastics and breathable.

BREATHABILITY

This polyester fibre has a series of aeration channel that increase garment breathability It works by forcing perspiration to expand and to exiting towards the outer side of the garment where it evaporates.

MOISTURE RESISTANT

Coolmax® fibres are specially designed to wick away moisture, preventing this from building up in garments. Thus fabrics made with Coolmax® dry quickly, avoiding the uncomfortable feeling of wearing damp clothes.

What is Econyl®?

Econyl® is a 100% recycled yarn made from nylon waste.

The waste, mostly from fishing nets, is recovered (cleaning the oceans) and transformed into a new yarn with exactly the same properties as virgin nylon.

RESISTANCE AND ELASTICITY

It is most often used for tight-fitting clothing such as tights, leggings, sportswear, and swimwear.

WATERPROOF

The fabric does not absorb water; this makes it excellent for outerwear.

what is Lycra®?

Lycra’s main feature is its ability to stretch several times its size and return to its original shape. Plus, it’s lightweight, durable, easy to dye, and resists crushing and abrasion.

It also naturally wicks moisture, which is the ability to draw moisture away from a person’s skin to keep it dry;

FLEXIBLE

It is very flexible and not easy to deform. Lycra improves the elasticity of stretch fabrics and can be combined with a variety of different fibres, whether natural or synthetic, without changing the appearance of the fabric.
